  • In 2019 the General Dental Council (GDC) processed 1,362 initial assessments of cases that were received by them. Of these, 283 were referred to the Practice Committee – 24% increase from 2018.
  • n 2019, around half of the concerns raised to us related to the treatment provided to a single patient, followed by concerns regarding the professional conduct of a registrant.
  • The Fitness to practise ‘considerations’ profile – 2019 shows that “Failure to provide good quality care” was by far the greatest considering in GDC fitness to practise cases in 2019.
