GMC case closed for Kings View client

Dr SC contacted Kings View Chambers, having been referred by a former client, to assist with his GMC case after making the decision he was not content with his indemnity cover.
We quickly formed the view that the advice he had been given was wrong and ill-conceived. Following renewed submissions from ourselves to the GMC they reviewed the matter themselves. After returning the case to the Case Examiner’s a decision was taken to close the case and take it no further.
Stephen McCaffrey, fitness to practise defence barrister, said:
“Early advice and a clear strategy is the only way to win Tribunals. Piecemeal approaches to each stage will always harm, often irreparably, the chances of being successful. Luckily, SC was recommended to us by a former client and took speedy action. With that action the case was, quite rightly, closed by the GMC themselves.”
Dr SC said:
“My sincere thanks to Stephen McCaffrey and Catherine Stock of Kings View Chambers who acted on my behalf in relation to a vexatious complaint made to the GMC.
“The matter had already been ongoing for a year and I was stressed and worried , but from the day I instructed Stephen and Catherine I felt reassured by their professional and knowledgeable approach. They very quickly grasped the details of the case, of which there were many, and confidently explained the approach we would take . My questions were always answered simply and honestly and I was kept abreast of all developments.
“As a result of their experience Stephen and Catherine were able to bring the matter to a close without it going to a hearing . I cannot thank them enough and would not hesitate to recommend them to others who might be unfortunate enough to find themselves in a similar situation.”
