Kings View Chambers represented a paramedic facing Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) fitness to practise proceedings.
JG, a paramedic, was facing very serious charges relating to drug misuse at work which could have had a huge impact of patient safety.
JG had used a number of different solicitors before instructing Kings View Chambers. Instructing Kings View Chambers, JG stated that he felt we actually listened to him and understood the case from his viewpoint. He also stated that we gave clear advice during each part of the process.
Speaking about the case, joint head of chambers Stephen McCaffrey said:
This case was very much about what a fitness to practise tribunal look for when considering impaired fitness to practise from both the aspect of public protection as well as public interest.
With representation from Kings View Chambers, JG’s fitness to practise was found not impaired, and no action was taken against his registration.
Speaking about the outcome of the case, JG said:
Stephen and Catherine took on my HCPC Fitness to Practice case and right from the initial contact were amazing. Very down to earth and happy to explain to me in language that I could understand. I’d previously used two other law firms for my long, complicated and drawn-out case at great expense with very little to show for it. Everything was laid out in front of me and the implications and potential outcomes were explained so that I had all of the information I needed to make an informed decision on which approach to take. Stephen and Catherine ensured that I was well prepared for my virtual panel and successfully defended me leaving me free to continue to work as a Paramedic.
I cannot fault them, from beginning to end they have been amazing with all costs laid out and no hidden extras. I owe everything to Kings View Chambers and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone in my situation.
