Kings View represent nurse in successful restoration application

A nurse, who was struck off the nursing register, has made a successful restoration application thanks to expert representation from Kings View.

RA was removed from the NMC register in January 2013 by a Conduct and Competence Committee of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) after a finding of impaired fitness to practise relating to misconduct.

During the restoration case, the fitness to practise panel noted in particular that the reflective statement submitted by Ms Stock on behalf of RA demonstrated a well-developed understanding of the impact of RA’s actions on patients, colleagues, members of the public and the reputation of the nursing profession.

Following further submissions by Ms Stock, the fitness to practise panel found that Ras fitness to practise was no longer impaired and granted the restoration application subject to RA completing a return to practice course.

RA, speaking after the case, said:

“You must remember that the burden is on you the registrant to convince the Tribunal that you are no longer impaired and a fit and proper person to be allowed back onto the register. It is far from automatic and takes hard work and commitment but often when clients come to us their focus has been in the wrong place and after an initial conference we are able to help put a strategic plan in place and timetable to achieve you goal of getting back to practise.”
